Secure teaches you to overhaul casters correctly to prolong their service life

The service life of a caster has always been the focus of our concern, which is related to the user experience. Therefore, according to our investigation, we have learned that in many cases, the casters cannot rotate, cannot achieve normal steering, or the caster wheel bearings are damaged, the bracket is deformed, and the brakes are not flexible. This is related to the user’s failure to use the casters reasonably and scientifically overhaul and maintain them during use.

So how can we prolong its service life? We think that the casters can be maintained in daily use through the following points.

 1. Visually check the wear of the wheels: the poor rotation of the wheels is related to the entanglement of ropes, hair and other sundries.

2. Bracket and fastener inspection: too loose or too tight casters is another factor, replace damaged wheels. After checking and replacing the wheels, be sure to tighten the axles with lock washers and nuts. Since a loose axle can cause the spokes to rub against the bracket and seize, replacement wheels and bearings should be available to avoid loss of production downtime. If the movable steering is too loose, it must be replaced immediately. If the center rivet of the caster is fixed by a nut, it must be locked firmly. If the movable steering cannot rotate freely, check whether the ball is corroded or whether there is dirt attached to it. If equipped with fixed casters, ensure that the caster brackets are not bent.

3. Lubricating oil maintenance: Regularly add lubricating oil to the casters, and the casters and movable bearings can be used for a long time. Apply grease to the friction parts of the wheel shaft and ball bearings to reduce friction and make the rotation more flexible. Normally, lubricate every six months.
